CRIME in Suffolk is falling, with almost 3,000 fewer offences in the past 12 months compared to the previous year, new figures have revealed.
Many categories of crime, including violence, criminal damage and vehicle offences, saw a drop during 2007/08 – but the number of alcohol-related offences rose by 13.5per cent (452 offences).
no great surprise here
feds have locked down all the parties, drugs etc so there are less instances of small posession or low level dealing, but I think a lot of youths what would have gone free partying are now going to commercial venues like Liquid / Fire and Fight etc or just binge drinking and they are angry to start with because the real fun things are gone, so with a few drinks inside them hardly surprising it kicks off..
I expect the “legit” clubs/pubs will be next in line for a clampdown, its gonna be harsh for the younger people who take late licensing hours for granted..
I suppose one positive thing is it looks like the cops are getting to trouble before it escalates but that also shows that in places like Ipswich that CCTV and surveillance are actually working…
