This is a thread to track my progress with vbseo (vBSEO – vBulletin SEO) which I’ve just installed after giving up on adwords because I’ve concluded it wasn’t doing much good for us. vbSEO is a paid (75 UKP & 15 UKP / annum update) third party tool for optimising forum software for search engines (don’t like “dynamic urls”) and humans. And although I already put a lot of time and effort into manually optimising the site, this takes to all the places I couldn’t reach before where it can add kewords to urls, shorterns them and makes them more human readable (below). In particular it’s now handling the less than friendly addresses produced by several of the tools we use such as webtemplates, vbshout (old chat room), inferno chat (new chat room) and downloads ii some of which are important pages for the site in terms of the traffic they bring in…
