What is the best MIDI controller to buy if you’re on a budget of say £100? any Reason users on here?
These are good for the price and using with Reason etc
i dont yet have a midi controller but a mate has an oxygen one he got for 50 quid and it was instantly compatable with reason.
i think any usb one is enuff, i reckon you only ever really all the extra knobs and controls for programs like ableton live and othe performance programs tho im probably wrong.

You can actually use all the extra knobs and controls with reason aswell! You can asign them to control anything you want!
cheers for the help though
Evolution do a good bunch of midi controllers too – used to have a mk249 many moons ago (I use mostly hardware synths etc these days)… It had pressure sensitive keys, and a bunch of pots etc (Reason is really easy to set up with most MIDI devices, cos it has a MIDI learn feature which works really well, so you don’t need to worry too much about that)…
Akai do a set of drum pads (MPD something or other) that mimic the functions of the MPC series, and have a bunch of other controls as well – not sure how much they cost though (I have an MPC4000 though, and can heartily recommend the drum pads as a superb way of control for drums and samples)…
