Hi,

I used to phone the United Sound Systems party line at 10pm on a saturday night when i was in my late teens but having not been in the scene for a decade (an old man now) I want to revisit my teenage-dom and get filthy at a squat rave and quickly!

Hehe…

So can anyone enlighten me? What are the parties like these days?

I used to know Oops, Rukus, Bedlam, Crossbones, Rude Awakening to name a few rigs but lost touch with all the party crew and I’ve got no idea when or where they are happening these days.

Is there a party line number anymore? Preferably Hackney parties please…

mate, look at what was said in your other post.read the site,see what its about then you’ll see why the details can’t jsut be given to anyone who asks,by email or otherwise.if that happened then police would just come on here,say something similar to what you yourself have said then theyd have all the info to the party location and would shut it down.

you need to let people get to know you.build trust etc.things are different than what they used to be

so get involved in the site 😉 :group_hug

ok ok you got me, i am OB but i really wanted to be a DJ with shinny golden stylis for fingers when i grew up…and now i have decided to fullfill that dream and thought no better place to do it than at a huge banging warehouse party with a pocket full of gold…

unfortunately another reason why no ones giving numbers isn’t just paranoia but the scenes taken a hammering from each side, from both the crack gangs and the cops clamping down

I remember 081 959 7525 too (anyone know where Debby got to?) – but you are talking about something what happened 9 years ago now and was already being blighted by violence and stupid behaviour – like the dude jumping out the window, and constant vandalism of venues.

things have got a fair bit worse rather than better – the only way to avoid a party being overrun by actual scum what are prepared to hurt people for fun is to hold it in near secrecy – not often from the feds but from the gangs!

also the olympics has pushed up the value of commercial property in East London so its being guarded more aggressively..

if you are looking for the days of London free parties with a surprisingly friendly, socially concious crowd (complete with such things as infoshops in the middle of a rave) thats long gone, and I doubt it will come back. About 3-4 years ago the gangs brought it to a stage where crews needed to deploy paid security, (and even these were seen as a challenge) things got to the point where many have decided “fuck it” and made use of the many venues with late licenses in most of outer London.

also the met are getting a bit harsher these days and actually confiscating rigs / arresting small time drug users etc..

the people haven’t disappeared though, if you look at our licensed events in the London area a fair few of them have turned up there..

my man, thats was a decent answer to my queries and thank you! yeah i had heared that things were different and it was more personal invites and very very low key these days…a bit dum of me to ask for any numbers on the net like that…so sounds like its well and truley ruined then…it was always about money though and the darker side to it was always there if you looked at it close enough, from the days of frankie nuckels and aciiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid parties even! so you say theres a few legal ones that a worth a visit though, outside of the mainstream i mean? i like a trip to a ram records launch party or something down at fabric just to let my hair down but what i really miss is the freedom of a free party! just being somewhere rocking where your not supposed to be…and anything went…and not least the best gear on the mkt at a fair price! anyhow, can you enlighten me with where your parties are then – i take it your a rig then?
