This was a concert they did in the Ukraine to raise AIDS awareness…one of the largest crowds , I believe it said 350,000.
I have wanted to see them perform for some time, but as they never came to my part of the country, I settled for this special viewing. It truly was spectacular, with an elaborate stage set-up amidst the huge crowd and surrounding buildings all lit up and night. Highlights for me were the tearful ‘Love of My Life’ and ‘Say It’s Not True’…memories of Freddie shared by everyone present. Paul Rodgers, while not the vocal acrobat Freddie was, is an excellent singer in his own style, and the classic songs took on a new angle. Brian May is a virtuoso, and Roger Taylor’s drum solo – which was performed while a second kit was being set up WHILE he played – was amazing. It was difficult to sit still during the rollicking Let the Cosmos Rock, watching the enthusiastic crowd dancing. All told it was a great show, well worth the admission price! :bounce_fl:bounce_g:
sounds like an awesome show…gotta be honest, i’m a little skeptical about rodgers, but it sounds like he did an okay job!
