  • can a crossover make you loose a channel on every amp in your rack?

do you mean the xover blows a channel on each amp,or that one channel of each amp just dont work? if its the latter i would be checking for dodgy leads first.

cant see 3 brand new xlrs all being dodgy. i dont think the channels are blown eather.

its got to the stage where we cant do events anymore coz of the problem with this xover buisness. we was hoping to do something next month but its looking unlikely.
this is a last ditch attempt to see if it can be sorted out.

Only if you haven’t read the manual and you’ve got it set on 4 way mono.

i’ve told you 3 times already that it didnt come with a fuckin manual…

Check the switches on the back of the unit, and check which mode it’s in (it should be in 3 way stereo mode I assume), and check the x10 switch for the crossover frequencies hasn’t been pressed…

    What make is it?

dont talk to me like that mr high n mighty…

i’ve asked for help several time on here but all i get is ego n people talking in codes trying to show of. people with no education like me find it very hard to understand and people like yourself know this. you put something up in laymans terms ages ago which was apreciated but as i said my came without instructons (which you knew) also you knew i’d been alover the internet trying to find things out.

all your doing now is trying to score points and boost your ego trying to play the hard man putting me down..

If it is a cx3400 I can PM you the manual (I’ve got the same crossover, and have a pdf of the manual somewhere)…

But check the swiches on the back of the unit (they’re marked as to what position does what). Failing that, and if you’re sure the cables are set up right and not faulty, it is possible to fry the inputs on one of these boxes by seriously overdriving it (not easy to do, but I have seen it done)…

Mate I agree %100 with that!!!It is a bit cheeky to say the least……
Right what model is it?Let me no and if you want I can call you or do it threw msn and hopefully talk each other threw whats happenin and get this sorted, From what you have said so far it really don’t make sense but I reacon I can help you out.PM me if you are interested….This is exactly the reason I did the sound engineering course (city an guilds part 1 n 2) hence why I reakon I can help….

Look through my previous posts I have helped him a few times before.

Just gets a bit annoying when after helping someone they don’t take initiative. I ask him have you read the manual and all he says is it didn’t come with one. It doesn’t take much to look. In fact to help him I was then having to look up the manual myself (as I don’t actually own this particular x-over) and then help.

Now I have posted the manual for him and although I may have been a bit rude there is no mention of him even looking at it. So I can’t be arsed doing the work for him. The manual gives a step by step guide through the whole unit and if after reading it Mr AHC doesn’t understand. I would then help but I don’t agree with spoon feeding people who don’t try and help themselves.

Right it works again! all channels running! its eather that the mute buttons were on? or the amps or xover dont like generator power suplys?

i’m going with the mute button theory but i’d like to explore the latter…
