can someone suggest an amp for a 600w RMS speaker, and 1200 peak, it is 8hms (needs 2 channels as ive got 2 speakers?)
behringer ep1500
Nowhere near powerful enough. Unless you bridge it into 4ohm and its PSU can’t keep up with that so it will sound shit and die quickly.
Depending on the speakers I’d probably go for a second hand c-audio ra3001 or matrix str3000. What speakers are they?
Sounds like 18″ colossus speakers – I drive mine off a pair of bridged Peavey CS800’s (you can’t drive a pair of stereo speakers off a bridged amp btw, cos bridging makes it a mono amp – essentially turning the stereo pair into one large push/pull mono amp)…
Anything that will give you the RMS power rating basically is good though… C-audio are good, Peavey, Crown etc (I wouldn’t personally go for a Matrix, or a Yamaha because they are too delicate to use on the road for my liking, but you pays your money you takes your choice…)
cant falt c mark 2200 or t amp 1400 i sware by them for what you what you pay out for them. matrix are better but a wee bit more pricey but the quality is abit better. i’m looking at Mc Greggor when i get round to upgrading.
