Komodo Dragon Attacks Ranger In Island Hut

The giant reptile managed to climb into a hut where 46-year-old Main was sitting at his desk.
The attack happened on Rinca, one of three islands where the world’s largest lizard can be found in the wild.
Main, who like many Indonesians uses only one name, wrestled with the komodo dragon until it let go.

Komodo Dragon Attacks Ranger In Island Hut – Yahoo! News UK

yikes these things really scare the shit out of me … they can bite your arm off with ease … propper sneeky fookers as well … come up behind you all stethaly … i used to watch programs on them cos they fasinated me but had to stop because of the nightmares i was getting lol :hopeless::laugh_at:

for all of England’s faults, one great advantage of living in this country is this sort of creature is normally only to be safely found in a Zoo or other secure private collection.

Even if one does get out, even in high summer its too bloody cold for it to get very far without being found and recaptured.

There are certainly none known to roam in the North/East London / South Essex area, I think an iguana escaped a while back in Manningtree in North Essex but it looked very out of place in the town, and it was soon returned to its owner…

the most I’ve had turn up in the office were a couple of beetles (living in the fluorescent lights), a cat and a cavalier King Charles Spaniel (both of which were friendly).

actually some family in the midlands found a gecko hiding up in the brocolli they had bought from Tescos – they did have it checked out to make sure it wasn’t a dangerous breed but when they found it was safe decided to keep it as a pet :laugh_at:

You’ve got to watch out for pesky monkeys in the Regents Park area, they could do off with your lunch in a heartbeat if you’re not vigilant.
