Reason I’ve posted this in here is because people seem reluctant to post their methods on public websites in case that particular method gets “sussed” and is then redundant…

Basically, is there any decent ways, or at least really good precautions?

I’m off to Bestival this year, and I’ve heard police are pretty on-top. I’m taking basically all our drugs as 3 of the others are wanting Visa’s to the US next year! The other fella would basically be booted out his house if he got caught, but I’ll be living in Leeds by then… however I don’t want to get caught as it could really fuck up my carreer as a youth worker for a few years!

I remember years ago glastonbury used to do an ‘amnesty’ so if you got caught with whatever you just got a caution –

so my sis took all mine as I was just about to do my training – I’m not sure they do this any more –

so be really careful what you hold – even if it is for good friends –

do you really wanna fuck your life up if you get caught – as they may even try and do you for possession with intent to supply – if they baged up individually / you got lots on you….

we have sniffer dogs come in real regular at work and they are spot on,
they pick up clothes and bags that have carried rugs in em, even if there nothing in em now,
they pick up on mirrors and cd’s that have ‘trace’ from where people have cut liines on em etc

from what I’ve heard ceratin dogs only pick up on certain things so one may do heroin and coke, one may do weed and mdma – but I’m not sure how correct this is

from what I’ve seen on the net even if you bag stuff and try and conseal the ‘smell’ with things lic ‘vics’ rapour rub or similar they can still pick up on it…..

unfortunately most drugs dogs now are trained for all substances, and they don’t exactly have conspicuous markers saying what they’ve been trained for anyway.

I’m in the same situation as you (and possibly TG as well) as I’ve got to go on Individual Safeguarding Authority list soon – FFS I’m just the IT/finance bloke and the “telephone man” (was exempt from CRB) but its apparently because I have access to all the data that I’ve got to be monitored :you_crazy so I can’t afford to get nicked for anything, another reason I’ve not been partying much recently…

I therefore no longer go to events unless I have trusted sources inside or ways past security checks…. I’d have a good chat with your mates as everyones got the same risks, actually I’ve got difficulty getting into the US even because of cautions but thats the risk I took (and it did hold me back in at least one job)

sorry can’t give any more optimistic answers but this is the way it will be for as long as drugs remain illegal..

thats coz they know you’ve access to CD rooms :laugh_at:

but seriously boothy – its fine being caught for your own stuff – but everyone has personal responsibility – so if they wanna take rugs let em, and you look after your own…. sounds harsh – but have had a few friends being done recently

just read some stuff what ain’t good:

“do not take drugs there at all… even being caught with one pill there will be deemed as a major issue by police.

had friend got busted with one pill as she smelt of weed by sniffer dogs. full strip search, court appearance in 5 months time, has to attend councilling in mean time for drug addiction. oh they then said have a nice day and allowed her entrance into the event.”

i don’t really know what to do, stuffing things in wax/shampoo or whatever is recommended by a lot of people but the police are obviously going to know that trick. strip searching ffs!

im thinking of some pretty drastic measures tbh :laugh_at:

i dont need drugs to enjoy the festival, but it is very preferable tbh

i just have a shit loads to lose by doing this, in september i’ll be starting a course that might want a clean CRB, it’d be 2010 if i did get nicked and went to court but then i’d probably get kicked off my course and then i dont have a clue what i’d do with my life back to square one innit.

I think this decision comes to most of us, I calmed RIGHT down about 21 as the risks of what I’d loose outweighed the fun for one night and was getting a little messy

And remember the cardinal rule if you do get caught – the drugs are for you, only you and never for anyone else no matter what the truth is….I have a friend who got given a stash to carry and was ignorant enough to say they were for another person at which point he got done for supply and spent 4 years inside……

There are very few things which will completely cover the smell of drugs but I could recommend ‘lock and lock’ boxes [in your local shops usually] they come in nice small sizes. If you go this way the remember to wash the box’s outside very very carefully and maybe put it inside something with a very strong smell and in another ‘lock and lock’ box. Good if the contents of the little one dont rattle btw 😉

Another good trick is to put your chosen airtight container is something people wont want to touch [sanitary towels is always a good one :laugh_at:] or wrap it in your clothes in such a way that they would have to unpack your entire bag to get to it at which point you are fucked anyway.

I saw a natty battery [which actually worked too] stash pot recently so that could be put inside a torch and there is a reason to have it with you; its unlikely [if you were to clean the outside very carefully] to be detected or even searched. Wear gloves while handling the rugs too

Really strong smells cloud the dogs ability to sniff drugs out – dont be too blatant though as this in itself will arouse suspicion in a clever searcher. A pongy aftershave that accidentally leaked in your bag would be favourite here if you can bear to live with the smell….preferably something where the lid could believably have a loose lid and leaks without you knowing if you get my drift :groucho: so you can swear about it if you get searched.

Another thing to remeber is to add a binliner inside your rucksack [also keeps the clothes dry in the wet dontcha know] as this is airtight and quite common in backpackers rucksacks..

id wash the outside of the container or whatever your gonna use in petrol or lighter fluid as this removes the smell as far as i know. Rapping it up in something then having a layer of coffee or fresh ground pepper works as well, well its either worked or ive just been lucky. Failing that you could always plug it :hopeless: bit uncomfortable, but at least you know its safe.
Also keep the clothes your gonna wear on the day in another room from where your smoking weed if you do and dont smoke spliffs all the way down there otherwise you’ll be getting searched 100% imo.

TBH if people are needing to take such measures you might as well be going to jail (but with a better soundtrack!)

if you have bought the tickets already than fair enough use all these subterfuges, but if not, do you really want to go to a event where the organisers have caved into the feds demands like that?

Worse, you are paying for them dogs from your ticket money!

there are plenty of smaller more “hippy” festivals where I expect they won’t have these dogs – many up North too (try Tribal-Living as they are usually listed on there).

PS: Local force is Hantspol (hampshire constabulary), they pride themselves on their “robust policing” of festivals and shaking down both “middle class drug users” and “London dealers” and have received accolades from the Home Office for their “good practice”.

Ok heres how I go about things like this.

Do NOT smoke pot / weed for a few days before going away. Wash all clothing that you are taking and ensure no smoke gets on the clothing.

Put some pepper over your luggage, this will put the dogs off the scent.

Plug the drugs up your bum. Use lubricant. You will be surprised what you can fit in there. If it feels like you want to poo, relax and get it up there.

Long haul flights, people are often watched if they go to the toilet. So if you need a piss, take 5 minutes and pretend your having a dump instead.

Eat, if you dont eat on a long haul flight this is another thing they look out for. because if your body is stuffed up with Jonnies of smack you will shit them out quicker than a bullet from a gun.

Dont put things in your luggage. It will have your name on it!!

Dont even think about false bottoms or false pages from a bible, thats way too 80’s style and you are always bound to get caught.

Ensure you are calm and not sweatty, look people in the eyes and smile, show that you are relaxed.

Remember dogs can sniff out drugs from your skin and clothing, keep clean for a while before going away (oops, already said that one).

I’m now running out of ideas.

Oh yes, if you do go for the plug up the bum idea, let me know and I will tell you how to ensure that no leakages get into the wrap. PS – its totally gross when you have to come to push out the drugs and your bodies waste. It doesnt hurt, it just feels like you are taking a dump! Thats what its like taking it up the bum BTW.

Can I ask, how much will you be carrying? And for fucks sake, I hope these are good friends.

And to second Raj’s opinion, they are for personal use. You was going to take all the drugs, you are the only person who knew about them. You were not going to sell / pass them onto someone else.

As interesting as “Uncle Elliot’s” advice is :laugh_at: I think I’d rather sit at home on my arse than shove stuff up it to get recreational substances into a so-called place of entertainment when (other than drugs) everyone has committed no crime.

unless there really is a act you and your mates want to see or the tickets are pre-booked I think its about time people made a stand and boycotted things like this – let them be overrun by townies and pissheads and let the lack of decent drugs slowly make the atmosphere worse….

if every person going into a community event run by a church, mosque or temple was searched on the grounds they might be terrorists with weapons there would be a fucking huge outcry – and even mainstream gig attendees are rarely searched for drugs – why are people on the dance music scene accepting the cops being allowed to pre-judge people before they’ve even got into the event?

100% agree, i think it is taking the piss, you dont even get searched for drugs in most clubs you go into, just patted down for weapons or not at all, at least up here. It cause the festival is on the isle of white and the police seem to be properly against anyone bringing drugs over for the festival. Not sure how strict they are at the festival entrance, reckon they may just be proper tight on the exit from the ferry..

Hantspol are like Suffolk, because its a coastal area relatively close to London their Drugs Squad is well resourced and equipped and they see festivals as a major contributor to the drugs culture.

At Eastern Haze Suffolk invited several Metpol CID units to help police the tents – they then bill the organisers for the cost of providing both their local units and these “foreign” resources!
