found it on a local neighbourhood watch site, whilst looking out for the usual “watch out for ravers” stuff the plod send out to the rural population

TBH I hope the cops actually get the people what did this; although I don’t think the offenders killed the newt (although thats an offence in itself) this sort of stuff is well creepy and underhand IMO – its often done as a reprisal against environmental campaigners as some people’s building projects get delayed because of newts (which are common in some parts of Mid Suffolk) – but everyone what builds in this area (including my employers) have to comply by the same rules and I don’t see why the countryside should be trashed all the time for business
whats worse is its probably the same sort of people what whinge about raves doing this sort of crime whilst appearing “outwardly respectable!”
