I’m going to Thailand/SE Asia in a couple of weeks for a month and was wondering if anyone’s ever been to the full moon party in Ko Pha-Ngan – I definitely want to check it out when I’m over there.

Any tips, thoughts, experiences? Do I need to get there a few days before to find a place to stay? And whats the deal with drugs? I know Thailand has very severe penalties for drug crimes. Is it risky to take drugs at the parties, or are they tolerated there?

hi there,
Just come back from Thailand and have to say the Full moon party was a let down. But probably only because i built it up so much. Regarding drugs, i saw quite a few arrests when at the party. But if you go to mushroom mountain, they sell you shroom shakes. Which knocked the socks off me and was tripping the whole night. But beware they’re pretty expensive. With hotels, i turned up the day before and found great bungalows for cheap. They were quite far from the party. But you can rent mopeds and they let you smoke joints on the beach. Very chillled. But it always depends. Anyway. have a great time and DONT get caught.

i never been but one of my mates said about the mushroom shakes and his done shrooms before he said they make them strong out there he sat tripping watching the tide he also said him and his 2 mates got literally a sack of weed for like £10 but not sure if he meant at the party or somewhere else
