  • Noticed there wasnt a thread about my favorite piece of Tek, well appart from my pc and my synths/drum sequencers etc 🙂 Any of you guys love your G1 asmuch as me?
For those of you who dont know :-
The HTC Dream (also marketed as T-Mobile G1 in Europe and the US or Era G1 in Poland) is an Internet-enabled 3G smartphone with an operating system designed by Google and hardware designed by HTC. It was the first phone to the market that uses the Android mobile device platform [3] The phone is part of an open standards effort of the Open Handset Alliance.[4]

Its basically in my oppinion a better version of the Iphone yeah sure it has a few drawbacks, its not as sleek as the Iphone and its internal memory isnt as big, but 80% of the apps and games on it are FREE.

Thought it got quite bad reviews hardware wise. Hate iphones though, overpriced tack.

i think the iphone is better… lots of free apps on that too. my mate has the g1, i have the iphone.. he prefers mine. i think g1 is a little more sluggish

if the g1 had less bugs and you didn’t have to spend £250 for the SDK if you wanted to contribute the community devlopment (oh, and if you could get it on O2) I might have considered it.

that said I’m getting to the stage where I just want a mobile to act as a decent “portable cellular radio- telephone (as they used to be called) and maybe take photos as anything else is just hassle). I’m even considering starting to use my original early 1990s vintage filofax again :laugh_at:

filofax .. haha i used to have loads of them :laugh_at:
