Was anyone there yesterday in town?
English Defence League and Unite Against Fascism held protest’s in the same places.
You couldn’t move for police, the atmosphere was very tense.
Here’s a link to the BBC website and a little video.

Yeah i saw this on the news earlier. I have a proper dislike of the UAF. They act in a manner that suggests they are very much the thing they claim to be against.
I am that old woman tbh, I just wanted to go home!
Nah, I couldn’t find any pictures of me.
I agree Cliffy, not all of them are like that but the majority go about it the wrong way.
Alot of BNP about and shouting “get off our streets”
As far as I know it didn’t get worse at night time and turn into a copy of the Birmingham riots.

…so it is ok the let the fascist march then? Some issues are too serious to be left for the politicians and the pigs to deal with and this is one of them….
but I’m not blind of that these umbrella organisations have issues that I disslike but overall I am on their side but I do not invite them to bed(its quite full already)….

Oh i don’t dispute the fact that fascism is wrong but i feel it is a word bandied about too much these days.
It’s the UAF i have an issue with. Most of them probably mean well but it’s the way they go about things that i disagree with.
This wouldn’t have even made the news if they hadn’t organised the counter demonstration…Just gives them more press coverage and makes them seen credible rather than a handful of idiots who’s views on world politics are utterly irrelevant.
hmm. I looked through that footage and only saw two brown faces in it – both were GMP Police horses :laugh_at:
the only people who come out looking good in protests like this are the Police….

Well their views aren’t that irrelevant. The (EDL) oppose the UK being governed by Sharia Law.
But I do agree with em, If we had Sharia law installed in the UK we would be all fucked. Seriously fucked.
Ten times worse than the BNP being in power.
