oh wow! have fun, I would love to go Skiing not been since I went on the school trip, loved it. Hope u get lots of snow

I think it’s bang out of order that they choose to strike now and fuck up their customers christmas.

It’s totally the wrong time to be doing this, they should be happy they all got a fucking job given many are out of work atm.

    The morons.

i think everyone is going to hate them, its right out of order – no public support

its gonna fuck up a big percentage of people who are travelling – a lot of money down the train but more importantly a lot of time with people down the drain

does public support matter in any way? or does it not matter a dime what people think?

i think public opinion could influence BA’s stance on the strikes

A judge might rule the strike illegal soon. Apparently the balloting process is in question and it’s going to court.

Here’s what a lawyer for BA had to say,

Opening his case in a packed courtroom, he said: “With what appears to be withering contempt for the interests and concerns of over one million passengers and those whom they wish to visit over Christmas, Unite has induced strike action over the most important two weeks of the year for the travelling public.

“The disregard for the plans of those passengers and many millions of others affected by any strike action, and the recognition of the sensitivity of the deliberate timing is highlighted by the decision to make the disruption last for the 12 days of Christmas. BA has therefore brought this action to protect its passengers against these wilful, disproportionate and clearly unlawful actions.”

Strike action would deprive millions of people of a happy Christmas and cause “maximum pain” for passengers, he said.

Gotta agree with him there, The union in question should hang their heads in shame.

BA in flight staff get double pay to people that work for virgin.

chancers, their lucky they even have a job as it is.

i hope BA goes bust and they all lose their jobs

im all in favour of unions but such a long strike over christmas time is taking the piss

    Yeah you know that mate.

A strike by British Airways cabin crew planned for Christmas has been declared illegal in a High Court ruling.

The court agreed with BA that the cabin crew’s union, Unite, had not correctly balloted its members on the strike action.

BA complained that staff in the process of leaving the company had been balloted, breaching industrial relations law.

The 12-day strike was due to begin on 22 December.

It is not clear if Unite will try to appeal the decision.

Reacting to the decision, the union said it was a “disgraceful day for democracy”, adding that a fresh ballot would be held unless the dispute was resolved.

British Airways welcomed the decision, saying it would be welcomed by “hundreds of thousands of families in the UK and around the world”.

“There was never any need for a strike and we hope that Unite will take this opportunity to reflect before deciding its next steps,” a statement from the company said.

“In recent days, we believe Unite has formed a better understanding of our position and of the ways in which we could move forward.

“It has also become very clear that our customers do not believe that old-style trade union militancy is relevant to our efforts to move British Airways back toward profitability.”

Fair play to the judge for seeing sense. Hopefully it’ll mean those affected will actually be able to enjoy a nice xmas now. raaa
