I expect any event held there last night was probably some sort of urban music event aimed at the older generation…unfortunately incidents like this do have a very bad effect.

I wholly understand why the cops closed off the roads so the CSI lot can do their job but the residents are going to be inconvenienced and their argument will be that if the club wasn’t there these things won’t happen..

that incident has probably cost about £5000 in public sector costs if you consider the cost of the ambulances, cops and then the paperwork the Council will have to deal with – if this subtracted from the tax revenue and business rates is a loss then there is the argument about why the taxpayers should subsidise the venue? (hence why places like Liquid and Evny have stupidly high entrance and drinks prices)

true, on the proper rave scene (not bullshit UK garage) the gun business was kept amongst the dealers and well away from the parties…

I suppose its a lesson to everyone though as I heard the last party crew event was also blighted by (much more minor) incidents of violence – its still inexcusable..

might have been a different one (not 100% sure) but there was enough of a disturbance and a bad atmosphere for my friend and his missus to leave there early and they are both young and love their parties…

its a big shame as 90% of the people in most towns are decent, but 10% fuck it up for everyone else and that 10% seem to be out to cause maximum damage…

was saying to my mate we need something like the new Danish Ungdomshus – apparently this hasn’t been in the news because its been working very well, as its moved slightly outside the town/city area away from where the gangs are and doesn’t create a noise nuisance either…

Denmark is is only across the North Sea and people in England and especially East Anglia aren’t that different, so why can’t we do it here?

Ungdomshus(et) = The Youth House – a community centre in Copenhagen, Denmark used during the day for community/creative projects and as a night time music venue. The definition of “youth” is now as broad in DK as it is here, going from mid teens to mid forties!

The first one got bought by the god squad in dubious circumstances and knocked down (because the new right wing government didn’t want it and there were also allegations of crime/anti-social behaviour associatd with the venue). This lead to riots in the streets of Copehagen, but eventually there was a meeting with the Council and some of the young people and a new one has been set up somewhere else in Copenhagen.
