Having not come across TEKNO as im no ta huge techno/tekno fan i shall give it a whirl.
I think it matters in Holland and France, since it’s bigger there. Dutch people also pronounce them differently.
What you call techno is pretty much my view of techno too, but i also call that shit music because it’s usually never new and is all about feeding the dj’s ego. And making money. While tekno is all about the music and freeparties! 🙂
I do like dnb and dubstep though, also usually about the music.
