to be fair scumtek have reduced the security issues/risks by various means, making these events no more risky than anywhere else in Londonistan..

living out here though, National Express will rob me just to get to Liverpool Street.. (and bunking the train isn’t an option, already got a criminal record for drugs so don’t want to add dishonesty to it..)

    Yes Yes …

GABBA WOCKY!!!! haven’t heard some proper Gabba in ages, and haven’t taken Ket in ages (despite the name)…….oh i think i i know i will be this weekend

hmmm I have never herd of 4 people being threatened with a knife put in a headlock and robbed of their stuff at anywhere but some of the more dodgy clubs and free party’s. Certainly there are more dengerious places in London, but there are also a hell of a lot of safer places.

Its not a massive risk I am sure, but how the smeg are you meant to relax when its not that unlikely…Perhaps if its a culture you are more used too it would seem more appealing I dunno, perhaps I am just a total wimp.

i generally feel safe at skumtek cos they search for bottles and knives. Never seen any crack heads like used to hang around in the old days with the techno systems.

apparently there was a bit of a barney at the last one between two chavvy families but if its not your business you’re safe

to put things in perspective, my mate got bottled in the face walking along a street in birmingham just because he had dreadlocks.. this was in upmarket bar area of town

you’re safer at a squat as a hippy then you are in central london

To get to entertainment venues (legal or otherwise) in towns and cities involves usually going about on the streets. There is way more danger there (even from traffic collisions!) than in these venues. The same applies to all large towns/cities, not just the capital.

Even at “fluffy” East Anglian parties there was a lot of anger and jealousy/sexual tension which on occasions spills over into violence.

perhaps, but from what I have herd about London party’s violence and muggings are hardly uncommon. I dont find the same situation exists in most other cultures in London. But at the same time I am sure its okay as long as you are sensible and lucky. Such is life really.

Its mostly down to my own anxiety

its not just London. The entire electronic dance music scene and the interlinked night-time economy across the UK has been blighted by bad attitudes and violence in recent times. Bear in mind EDM as a whole is a very broad scene ranging from urban music (grime etc) to psy-trance and in areas where cops have been successful at stopping “drug friendly” events people have just dropped back into being townies!

Any large male-dominated gathering of young people is at risk of being affected by violence. The amount of people doing this violence are a small minority but they have a very bad effect on the event as a whole.
