you can get new screens but they can be very expensive and hard to fit, depends how much the laptop is worth. Is the laptop screen working at all? When the monitor connected via the VGA turns off is the laptop still running and its just both displays that are not working?

The lap top screen is all white with very faint cracks in it.yea the lap top display is still all white just the monitor says no signal an yea the lap top is still running and the screen is still white when this happens, what I dnt understand is why it works to the point of literaly 1 second b4 windows should be there?

beyond me mate, sounds like the screen is fucked but why it doesn’t work with a monitor I dont know, especially as you say it works until windows loads. Could be damaged hardware at a guess. Its not something simple like windows is trying to use to higher resolution or something odd like that? did the monitor work with the laptop before the accident?

Yea worked fine plus the monitor I’m useing is pretty much the same as the same specs as the 1 on the lap top…I dont understand windows useing a higher resolution?
1 think it dose do is it come up with the 25 secs befor normal boot up or 3 other choices (this is straight away when I turn it on) custom config an all that u no?
press F8 when the machine is starting up and see if it will boot in safe mode. When you have done so, set the resolution of the display driver to one which you know the monitor can handle..

Hey GL you ok..is that just F8 on its own or the blue Fn then F8?
just f8 on its own. a menu comes up with the custom choices such as safe mode etc..

^^This .. It deffo sounds like either the freq range your gfx card is putting out it too high/low for your monitor (normaly with HD monitors this has happened to me when fiddling with the settings) or as gl sais the actual resolution of the screen
