Dorset is like hampshire or coastal regions of East Anglia, a victim of its own location.
During the 1990s fuckloads of drugs got in via the coasts, so you had a boom in the rave scene and the wider drugs culture followed by loads of busts as addictions/overdoses and turf wars between dealers brought the scene under the spotlight of the authorities.
once the authorities have been caught out like that they tend not to forgive and forget noisy drug friendly events (they aren’t as good at cracking down on smackheads in coastal areas until they start doing crime because they tend to be quieter)
