I’m not too sure if this should go in gadgets bit but i thought maybe people would know in the art section.
Anyway, I’m LOW on money in fact i have ten pounds to last me long. Its my birthday in a while though and i want to get a cheap camera that can take photos at night, at raves and outdoor parties because its a mood ruiner when I realise I can’t get any and have no photos to remember anything.
Im not good with cameras at all, know barely anything. Theres Something about a high ISO that means you can take better photos at night isnt it? Im sure theres more envolved but does anyone know of a camera or have one for sale?
I don’t care how old fashioned shit scuffed up they look as long as its cheap and doesnt affect its working. Its better actually its less likely to get it stolen.
Cheers!
do you mean a film camera or a digital camera?
with a film camera you change the film to high ISO (which is called “fast” film). 400 was “fast” film, I used to use it a lot when taking “normal” photos as I was in indoors in dark squats and disused buildings.
with digital cameras, even cheap ones now have 1600 or 3200 ISO. My mum said I could keep the compact one she got in Malaysia when she went back (they are more advanced than England when it comes to cameras), as it had higher ISO, it can go up to at 3200. some cameras allow even higher but with less resolution.
when you use high ISO you don’t need flash as often but there is often “grain” (extra stray pixels) like old film had more grain when you made it “faster”. you can slightly blur these out on photoshop and then it looks more like old film than a cheap digital camera.
I meant digital.:)
Oh sick, its just i looked at cheapish digital cameras and they were saying 100- 400 ISO.
Is 400 still really quite weak? I just wish i could use my Polaroid. Film is so so expensive though, And the pogo pictures are just quite vacant looking.
Just discovered my mums is 1600 ISO 😀
Stealing, i just don’t have the money to buy it again when/ if i break and loose it.
I think some of the cheaper Fuji ones certainly go higher than that.
400 is just about useable at a very well lit party but anyone in the pic moving will be blurred as you need a long shutter speed.
it makes me feel old to remember the days when film was all you had!
I want a to use a disposable camera actually, but it just costs to get them developed.
Cheers for the help I’ll have another look.
