oops.. thats quite a big ‘un for that area but clearly they picked the wrong bit if the sound could be heard outside the forest..
Up to 200 revellers are believed to have turned out to Rendlesham Forest in the early hours of this morning.Police were alerted to the incident when an officer on patrol was told by a group of youths that they were off to a party in the forest.
The force helicopter was mobilised to monitor the situation and more officers were called in.
Police then received calls from concerned members of the public reporting noise coming from the forest.
A spokeswoman for Suffolk Constabulary said officers tried to bring the event to a close but when that failed they went onto the site and seized sound equipment.
“Late last night a police officer on patrol came across a group of youths who said they were heading to a party in the forest,” she said.
“Officers blocked off routes that were being used to enter the site, where between 100 and 200 people are believe to have gathered, and liaised with those at the site to try to bring the event to a close.
“When this failed to stop the noise, just after 4am this morning, police went onto the site and seized the sound equipment.”
oh dear. i blame the police in the first place.
unfortunately the East has used all the anti-terrorism budget to stop raves as the Muslims here are all Bangladeshis who don’t do extreme Islam (some of ’em are ravers, like the dude who parties with Biotech’s friends), so they’ve got the resources to patrol the middle of nowhere at stupid hours..
noname from Scotland has mentioned how a lot of crews build the wrong sort of speakers what blast the sound way further than it needs to go….
looking at satellite photos its also possible they were dobbed in by yuppie campers who come up here from London to “get away from noise”
now on BBC Suffolk..
BBC News – Police seize rave sound equipment at Suffolk forest
Police seized sound equipment during a rave believed to have been attended by up to 200 people at a forest in Suffolk.
The force helicopter was scrambled and officers sent to block off routes into Rendlesham Forest overnight on Friday.
They also liaised with people at the site to bring the event to a close.
When this failed to stop the noise, which had prompted complaints from nearby residents, police seized the equipment at 0400 BST.
There is an ongoing investigation into the incident, a police spokeswoman said.
An officer on patrol was alerted to the event after coming across youths who said they were going to a party at the forest.

I thought that place had had its license revoked (for music and dancing) after the shooting, and all that was allowed there was dominoes etc and stuff for the elderly (a West Indian girl I work with said her nan still goes there in the mornings)
Someone else told me that private ticket only events were occasionally happening, but even then cops always have the discretion to stop these events happening.
In which case I agree the cops should have been more decisive rather than leading people on until the last minute – people in EA are known to be stubborn so of course it would lead to people trying a illegal event, but they’ve still got a large amount of taxpayers money to play with and unfortunately most of society behind them…
They cancelled the event at the carribbean club because lack of police man power due to the football being on. Managed to get enough to fill 4 riot vans up all suited and booted though. It’s a joke really. The place picked was a poor spot and has been used a few times before.
FFS people have got google earth, satnavs and as much gadgets as cops have. A big map of the forest only costs £7 from a bookshop. the track numbers aren’t on it but the tracks are..

unfortunately thanks to the Londonistan rude boys the events would be classed as “high risk” :hopeless: – even so there’s always 4 riot vans worth of cops around Suffolk (and most other areas) just in case the townie venues kick off, or there’s a domestic on a estate, whether or not there is football – Suffolk gets as much extra money for cops as London but there aren’t any terrorists so it is used against “anti social behaviour”.
also many of todays footy fans aren’t as “hardcore” (in both senses of the word as they used to be ), most of them get pissed and go home and go to bed after the match and don’t hang around the streets so the cops are “spare” by the time all the townie venues are closed (hence why they turned up at 04:00).
in the old days they’d come to the rave but behave themselves (at the raves I at in the 1990s/2000s if peopel argued about footy they’d just get the piss took out of them by hippies :laugh_at: and thus any trouble was swiftly defused.)
I’m not that much into football but TBH If I’d been watching the England match I’d want a rave afterwards to take my mind off the misery!
how much notice did the cops give to the organisers? 4 riot vans is only about 28-30 cops, but they are trained to deal with being heavily outnumbered (I think since the days of Boudicca here!). The shift allocations have also been extended since late night drinking was allowed in towns since 2005..
A lot of old skool ravers did put on parties on footy day so the cops were stretched but the EA ones are more stubborn and won’t give in..
also once just one normal citizen has called 999 and complained cops have the right to shut down the party and after Ramsholt 2005 if they didn’t do so they’d be berated in the Press for not taking firm action..
