  • And we wonder why the cops and councils don’t want people on the streets late at night :hopeless:

OK its usually claimed that alcohol “is to blame” but a lot of other people drink (myself included) and don’t go beating up people… also round here I’ve noticed an increasing amount of violence at dance music events – not robbery like in London but people just deciding to punch anyone they happen to disagree with…

Norfolk News, Norfolk Sport, Norfolk Business News, Norfolk Jobs, Norfolk Cars, Norfolk Houses – EDP24

A 21-year-old man was assaulted outside Swafham Police Station in the early hours of this morning .

It happened at about 4am and he was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn at about 4am.

It is believed he suffered head injuries.

A 22-year-old man suffered head injuries after an assault outside a chip shop in Dereham.

Police and paramedics were called to the Big Fry in the Market Place at about 2.45am this morning .

He was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

    Nobody else was injured.

A 27-year-old was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital after being assaulted in the city.

Police and paramedics were called to Tombland at about 2am this morning after the man was injured outside the Maid’s Head Hotel.

He had injuries to his face and body.

Pretty standard night in norfolk tbh, theres alot of fights round here for some reason…. Norwich is awful for this kinda shit i hate to say. I think partly because its the biggest city in East Angila alot of people travel here and see it as there “big night out”, and try and pull out all the stops.

Nearly everyone in norwich is on the pull on a friday night and alot of the fights are over girls tbh . Those 3 fights almost certainly went the only fights alot go unreported. For example about 5 mates of mine got banned from a club for fighting acouple of weeks ago and one said they got a knife pulled on them. God i hate norwich tho its a fucking shithole full of people looking for fights.

I totally agree with what you say about Norwich and the circumstances, but the reports mention two other smaller market towns in the area. many incidents do go unreported which I think is what the media along with the authorities is trying to challenge across East Anglia..

the pattern of these reports hints that they are being sent to media by East of England Ambulance Press Office. In fact in many areas the Police, NHS and Council work together with the media to report as many of these incidents as possible, whilst staying within human rights/privacy laws.

the idea is to shame people without naming them and to highlight the level of violence associated with the night time economy and the wider cost to everyone, taxpayers are paying for the treatment costs.

most people below the age of 30 and certainly those in their teens and 20s understandably take the amount of (legal) venues selling alcohol and playing music late at night aimed at younger people for granted, as they have not seen much else. but this is all relatively new…

I got an email from a government petition I signed a while back (protesting against planned restrictions on pubs/nightlife). The reply was that the Government are going to do it anyway but target “troublesome” venues harder than good ones – but all venues opening after 23:30 will be subject to higher licensing fees.

The authorities are also geared up to deal with any rise in illegal events and succesfully close them down, particularly as the local people where they happen are assisting the cops by telling them which tracks to roadblock etc…
