The first machine would probably serve healthier stuff than an equivalent Western style University canteen.. What they used to do is employ poor immigrants but now they are stricter about immigration control in Singapore (as its tiny and crowded anyway). $18000 for the robot might seem like a lot but it does the work of two people and the employers have to spend something like $3000 per person sorting out visas, ID card etc.
