I made a few orders some time ago from a few rave shops and its been a mixed experience. To me it seems like many rave webshops are scam sites perhaps owned by the same owner.
Anyway, here is my experience with the webshop Entertheasylum.co.uk
I tried for 3 weeks to get in touch with them regarding my order but they never answered an email and also never answered the phone.
Their delivery info as quoted below just screams of unprofessionalism:
I filed for a paypal dispute and got my money back, apparently the store never even responded or contacted paypal.
To me it actually seems like the website is fully automated scam site, orders get confirmed instantly and dont change status until paypal withdraw the payment from the stores account – this causes the order to instantly cancel.
I cant say I recommend doing business with this store.
Have you been scammed or attempted scammed by this or another shop?
That’s not really a rave wear site mate .. it’s more goth ect. sry to hear they tried to mug you tho .. cunts.
Have you tried looking at the cloaths store here?
Club Wear & Rave Clothing Store
you can design your own cloathes 😉
and there delivery info i’ve seen something simila b4 on a legit site.
I bought my monitor speakers there plus some otehr bits here and there .. they are in germany and there’s a flat rate of £10 delivery charge pretty much no matter what you buy. Each contary have there own price band.
Alltho if they were being honest then I would say it’s very nice of them to take it to the post office and send for cheeper … but they are not.
I think the unprofessionalism comes from the fact they didn’t send you the goods. (I really wouldn’t worry about how professionaly they give delivery info)
You may be right, Ive never seen that system before and thats why it strikes me as odd.
The website may be mostly for goths but the shop has an unbelievable amount of goods.. Seems like they just data mined a ton of webshops and added everything to their own inventory for cheaper IMO.
I made another order from beatdropscloset.com and I can only recommend to stay away from that site as well. I will never buy from these two shops again.
I tried to take a look at the store here but I dont think my computer had the required plugin for it to work but Ill try it again later, it sounds fun to design your own clothes 🙂
can’t speak for shops in other countries but the reality is that a lot of us English are supposedly a “nation of shopkeepers” but slack as fuck when it comes to customer service.
ironically if its some big corporate company the young staff work hard because the bosses are watching over them, but I’ve found myself that businesses run by “hip young people” are fucking shite at actually doing business, they cherry pick their customers, keep random opening hours and also don’t sort out problems quickly such as stock shortages or delivery delays – then they wonder why their business goes bankrupt…
I can’t be fucked with fashion trends, I get most of my clothes from places like Asda and Primark. often the clothes are made in some foreign sweatshop either way, iits just that you pay a big markup in the trendy prices..
I’ve actualy been thinking about buying some hippy type cloathes (mainly jumpers) as i allso get my shit from primark and hate it .. alltho just can’t afford anything expensive (especialy as it’s probably come from the same place anyway)!
Shit from shops isn’t made to last as you’ll not be a repeat customer otherwise. Shit made by hippys will last for years and years! :laugh_at:
if its genuinely made by hippies (and indeed I know a fair few) its true, except that unless you are seriously considering cross-dressing, men’s alternative fashions seem to make you look like a cross between Adam Ant and a Victorian fop/dandy mixed with Shoreditch hipster. At least thats what some of the folk I see in the pubs I drink in (which attracts the alternative crowd) look like…
@pcynopodia – entertheasylum is a real shop, in the North of England. its just that they don’t seem to be able to deal with the web orders properly.
ahaha … I think you’re talking about “metro sexuals” (well that’s at least where i think it started to hit mainstream)
guy’s dressing up to look femanin just to seem less thretaning and atract more girls.
unless you mean like this dude i see at a free party once who was wearing nothing but a pink tutu. :laugh_at:
and yeah I didn’t mean hippy type as in looks like hippy cloaths … but from primark 😉 :laugh_at:
nah, what I’m seeing is blokes dressing up in a masculine way but a mixture of dudes from the 1950s to 1970s (i.e what my dad would have worn), 80s new romantic and emo fashions (not as much black as emos though) – Ipswich is overrun with hipsters at the moment…
ahh I was fucking about taking photos with my mate the other day (he’s playing with his new camera and I was being a tart lol).
I think I ended up wearing a black suit jacket with blue jeans and a cream checkered “grandad hat” with black polo shirt. :laugh_at: it actualy looked pretty decent (alltho I was drunk and that does have an effect on your oppion of stuff lol).
this more the kind of dress you’re talking about? (don’t worry I don’t normaly dress like that lol)
General Lightning, Im thinking the owners of the real store have nothing to do with that website, I tried calling the phone number on the website and no one ever picked it up. If this is the case then someone is scamming in the name of entertheasylum 🙁
Or as you say its their legit website but poorly managed.
I went to hong kong and I found alot of amazing clothes there, none of which were in my size. The brand was called Top Clothing, not easy to find on google..

more likely they just could not be bothered to pick up the phone. I think their staff feel they are “too busy” dealing with the “real” customers in the two shops they run to answer the phone and put on the website as an afterthought and are not giving it the resources it requires. A lot of UK business are like that, especially the “trendy” ones (ironically “boring” ones like computer companies or big retail chains are much more responsive) maybe in your country and other places you have been too the business culture is better…

Possible but I cant imagine it being common practise over there to ignore even paypal disputes. For one its unprofessional and customers who received their shipment can just file a dispute and get their money back since paypal assumes the customer is right unless seller proves otherwise.
