Hi, I’m kind of new here and just wondering, is there much ever happening in Manchester? My mate does his own music (Not just a software junkie) has his own studio and plenty of equipment and just wondering what we can get involved in? I know because I’m new I will proberally not hear anything but worth a shout!

nowthats out of the way! welcome haydn! theres a few bits and bobs gwarning in good ol gunchester! dunno about what you could get involved in though & what you like but the best bet is to get out & about!

there was a very good hardcore techno scene up there for a long time, Jay prescott used to run a night called species, chk ush.net for more info

also any clubs powerd by Neuron Pro Audio – Manchester based PA, Sound, Lighting, Speaker Hire Specialist » Providing high quality speaker hire, live sound engineering and lighting services for weddings, parties, conferences, nightclubs, festivals and concerts. will sound like nothing you have ever heard of before!

as for free parties, well manchester has one of the biggest police forces outside of laaaandan, the last time i went up there was for dust tek, and the old bill did not like iT!

Love Manchester!! Hoping to find myself a couple of month’s work up there at some point so I can experience some full-time indulgence.

You’ve got a great big national park on your doorstep, and I can assure you there is plenty to do. Don’t know anything about techno, or what you’re looking for, but hip-hop and dnb is plentiful.

There’s some good vinyl shops and buzz around the northern quarter, these might be a good place to start finding things to do and get involved in musically.

Shame man 🙁 Always seemed more than reasonable at parties…. protests and the TAU, well that’s a different “kettle” of fish, so to speak.

Well I have the usual going out life, bars and clubs and what not (Usually Stalyvegas) but I’ve always wanted to experiance the free parties!
It does have a good atmosphere here so I’m lucky really, just think that there would be some free parties knocking around! 😀

Manchester has the worst ‘underground’/techno scene ever it seems! And as for free parties – well….they nearly never happen! Only free party rig I know of is Gash and well they’ve been pretty quiet lately .. I wish there were more though coz its such an effort having to drive south all the time to go to ne good parties! If neone does know ne rigs based around here please let me know, because until then it looks like Bristol and beyond every weekend in the foreseeable future!

You should check out Micron at Joshua Brooks btw – its usually a pretty sik night, lots of techno and Wobble Wobble is usually a very good night – house/tech house also at Joshua Brooks. Its a cool venue, and the drinks are real cheap but be careful with the security there – they used to be really lenient but now they are SO on top! Ive seen police called out on people and last week I got taken to a corner and searched just because I looked outa it … shit like that really can ruin your night! Worth checking out – there are also other random nights on there sometimes that are good like … plasma future i think it was called, euphoria trance, and Our Friends Eclectic, House/electro. Also if your able to throw parties, why dont you start off with some house parties?? Be sure to let me know if you throw ne!!!!!

my mate saw her perfom in mank thursday just gone. said it was the closest he will ever get to a religious ezperience. he proper loved it.

as for manchester parties.. keep your ear to the ground for the gashcollective
