A 17-year-old male from the Lodge Park area of Corby, was arrested on Wednesday 2 February in connection with the supply of controlled drugs, and has been released on police bail.
The arrest came on the back of a report from a member of the public, where a Facebook page was alleged to have been concerned in the supply of illegal drugs.
During the arrest, officers seized computer equipment, drugs paraphernalia, mobile phones and associated equipment.
The Facebook page, which had more than 200 ‘friends’, has now been shut down.
Inspector Gary Williams, Corby Sector Commander, said: “We take all reports of criminal activity seriously, and would positively encourage community intelligence, and where possible for the public to tell us their concerns and any information they have.
“We acted swiftly in this case to establish the details and take necessary actions. We are continuing with our investigation into the Facebook page.
“We will also be undertaking activity in schools through the Safer Schools Partnership, to promote Internet safety, highlight the dangers and offer support.”
Officers are committed to tackling drug activity in Corby, and this latest arrest comes just months after a week of action saw a series of high profile drugs warrants executed and numerous arrests made at a number of properties in the area.
