Distortion, a Celebration of Copenhagen Nightlife, was founded in 1998 – in Mantra, Tivoli, Copenhagen, as a one day festival celebrating Copenhagen’s rising clublife; In 2000, Distortion became a 5-day mobile party, invading one Copenhagen neighbourhood per day.

DISTORTION 2009 – 66 dancefloors – 39.950 visits / approx. 16.000+ humans
DISTORTION 2008 – 56 dancefloors – 31.600 visits / approx. 13.500+ humans
DISTORTION 2007 – 37 dancefloors – 14.800 visits / approx. 6.500+ humans
DISTORTION 2006 – 28 dancefloors – 8.900 visits / approx. 4.000+ humans
DISTORTION 01>05 – 16>21 dancefloors – 4.500>6.500 visits / approx. 3.000+ humans
DISTORTION 2000 – 13 dancefloors – 3.700 visits / approx. 1.800+ humans

on average, distortion guests visit the festival 2,3 times each

This is reclaim the streets and with all rights to dance and celebrate; The PARTY!

At night it is club clash….that is not free, but normally people do not leave the streets they find other means to keep music and the party going 🙂

…but that said, Club Clash kicks ASS as well!

the prices for a wristband for all 4 days, those things that happens after 2200 is not cheap(500,-dkr), and most of the money goes to clean up the streets…last year we expected a small amount on the + side….but the communal cleanup service grabbed more than 3/4 of the budget….we have crews to clean up but its like pissing in the wind and if the commune sez no good they do it and tax us….so the people that goes to the club and hall parties is paying for cleaning of the streets(they are the same people anyway)….but we want to party and that is not done without some litter….and a massive amount of food, beer and loud music of all kinds….. but still the free part is the best…that I miss out on due to my work with the halls and clubs
