Distant Planet.. Old Skool Hardcore, Rave & Jungle.
It’s summer 1991 and the pop charts are pumping to the sounds of Chesney Hawkes, Jason Donovan, Cher, Hale & Pace or perhaps U2 if you like that sort of thing. But they didnt…….
The youth of Great Britain and Western Europe at this time were more interested in visiting independent record shops which appeared countrywide, purchasing white label records with nothing more than a photocopied sticker or an unreadable signature for identification. Surely these records and this music is nothing but a passing phase and soon to be forgotten.
Dance music evolved, commercialised, disappeared, went underground then came back again. So on & so fourth.
It’s a good job these vinyl 12” were made of a sturdy material as their work was not done.
2012 and the sound lives on..
Distant planet brings the music from the past and presents it to the current climate bringing headline DJ’s from back in the day alongside up and coming talent who will all be spinning the sounds of the late 80’s to early 90’s.
At the moment Distant Planet moves it’s location to keep things interesting. A remote but beautiful pub garden in a secret location or perhaps a cosy space in Central London plays host to this friendly trip down memory lane.
Arrive early to chat and socialise or partake in the unique Rave quiz [pub style] and test your knowledge of early dance and rave culture and perhaps scoop the cash prize. As the evening proceeds a great night of Old Skool, Hardcore & Rave will ensue. So come along and most importantly … Don’t forget to dance

Just to let people know that this venue has got a good sound system. The bar is very cheap and the beer is quality. We will be digging deep with our tunes so expect quality music all day long.
First 40 ravers through the door will receive a free CD of one of the DJs playing at Distant Planet.
