Hi,
I’m looking for some lovely people to help me by filling out a questionnaire about free parties. It’s part of a research project I’m doing for college on the religious and spiritual dimensions of rave culture. Unfortunately, due to the sad passing of a friend I’ve had to put the research on hold and now have only a few days to complete it. If any of you can spare ten minutes or so to answer the questions below I would be so so so grateful π I am a raver and put on free parties myself so please do not feel you will be judged in any way for your answers. I have posted this questionnaire in other groups on this forum and been accused of being a journalist or the police! If you read the questions you’ll see that I don’t actually want to know any specifics about drugs/location of parties or anything like that so please don’t worry. I’m not dodgy, just chose to do a project on raving because I love it so much π If you would like to answer anonymously, feel free to email me your answers rather than post them on here. My email address is georginacrawshaw@live.co.uk
Thanks for your support guys and gals π π π
Here are the questions…
1. What attracted you to the rave/free party scene in the first place and what led you to continue attending raves?
2. Describe how you feel when you are at a rave/free party.
3. What does the word βconnectednessβ mean to you? Is it something that relates to your experience at raves/free parties? If so, how?
4. What is your opinion about spirituality at raves/freeparties? Are they spiritual? Why/Why not?
5. Have you ever had a specific spiritual or religious experience at a rave/free party? If so, please describe that experience. Please give details of when and where it happened (I’m not interested in specific party location, just what type of party/whether you were dancing/what you were doing etc)
6. Do you follow a particular religion? If so, what religion do you follow?
7. Rave is commonly characterised by the acronym PLUR, which stands for peace, love, unity and respect. What do these words mean to you and in what ways do they direct your behaviour?
8. Do you feel your personality or perspective has changed as a result of your experiences at raves/free parties? If so, in what way has it changed?
Thank you so much for your help π
