Im looking around the party scene in manchester up north, and cant seem to find anything atall.
For a start, all the legal raves have age restrictions, most of them I dont fit into,
And the illegal ones, well they are really kept on the down low, and I dont have many connections within the rave scene, so partyvibe is almost my last hope for a few years to check out whats going on around here that I’m not being told about! Hope to hear from people soon, desperate for another rave like the gash ones,

though I’ve never had the chance to party up north the impression I get is that there are currently loads of legal ones but not that many illegal ones which is fair enough as most of the folk what were doing them are my age, many actually have kids the same age as you now and no one wants to take the risk of getting in shit and they also do have some conscience about keeping younger people safe. bear in mind things like the BBC coming to your ends have filled the area with middle class do gooders and their own young kids and thus things are gonna be watched hard.

However what my younger friends did was get a rig and find a local venue what would let them put on a event. That way the age limit was 16 and you only got carded when trying to buy alcohol and provided anyone below 18 isn’t acting like a muppet its all cool, and you get a good range of folk from their teens to their 30s and beyond (I once saw this dudes Dad at one of these events and the young chap was my age :laugh_at:)

sadly some rude boys shot up the place at a grime event (nothing to do with my mates) so the venue got locked off but it was good whilst it lasted.

Sounds like manchester! Ok, I dont have the money, for my own rig and gear, neither the experience, but Im fully willing to support artists and collectives. Legal ones would do fine ofcourse, there just seems to be nothing going on and you seem to find more and more after each little event:P

There is definitely some crews doing big freeparties now and again around the Manchester area. I’m not going to post rig names or anything like that but if you ask around locally I’m sure someone will be able to point you in the right direction.

I’ve lost count the amount of times people have told him not to go naming rigs that he has no permission for. Aparantly he has his own soundsystem in his lock up and should be out touring the country right about now. Funny he didn’t name his own rig/boombox.

If your in manny what you wanna do is get yourself down to the lock ups in sale with a pair of bolt cutters land a transit van, loads of crews keep their rigs in them and they haven’t got 24/7 security.

You could put yourself a nice little rig together free of charge and start doing your own parties, what me and the lads done anyway think it was dead dog disco or summat that we’ve got

Mate, why would you want to steal a rig? People put alot of money into those things and seeing as we’re talking about ‘free’ parties here, they dont get much money out of using the rigs, just peoples enjoyment whilst enjoying the rave. I’m a lyricist, raver, drug user, fiend, but I am not a thief to good causes.
Too many florence nightingales, not enough robin hoods.
Id happily steal rigs if they belonged to a corrupt higher archy, but they dont, they belong to ordinary ravers that cant afford to keep their rigs locked up, and just wanna have a good time. Imagine getting together enough money for eventually buying a rig then having it stolen, clearly, not a good feeling man.
