i’ve managed to get my DJ software to tweet the tracks being played – this will be handy for radio shows as it saves talking over the vocals of trance (this is called crashing the vocals and is bad practice) and I often get the exact details (remixers etc) wrong anyway, unlike AVB or Ferry Corsten I didn’t produce the tracks and therefore have a entire press kit ready or know instinctively where the vocals are (or have the cue points marked) 😉
bizzarely there is no easy way of getting this data to the local network, so I’m looking for something what will run as a small windows program in the background, grab tweets with certain hashtags and convert the content into text. this will then be picked up by Eddcast so even though its live mixing a stream would correctly update metadata with a track change
anyone found such an app? at least I found somethign useful to do with twitter :laugh_at: better still doing it this way means I can share the solution with those using other DJ software provided it has a twitter plug in raaa
Cool man sounds great, I’m not the expert in this sort of thing as you know but i’ll ask my mate who will probably know.

Nah i’m gonna ask my mate who does radio shows round brighton from time to time. I was gonna ask him if he wanted to do one on here to be honest but I haven’t got round to asking him. I’ll send him a quick email and if he lets me know i’ll reply to this thread OK.
Twitter have a restful API that can return results of searches etc in JSON. Someone brainy could probably hack up a bit of javascript that calls the API, finds the most recent tweet with the hashtag you’re searching for, and spits it out as a ‘Currently playing: xyz’ block on a web page.
