he is half of the couple what runs our community farm and builds all sorts of gadgets to monitor the temperature of plants, keep pigs in and rabbits out, security of the crops against thieves etc..
he recently retired from British Telecom and his last project was to oversee all the telecoms circuits used for the olympics for the broadcasters, everything from talkback (like a telephone circuit) to HD video and broadband embedded into the coax cables the telly people use (like a VPN within the internet for the olympics site, so is brainy enough to make good use of it..
Means nothing to me dude, but no doubt in the right hands that’s a seriously fkin cool piece of kit. Even though I don’t know what it does, I’m pretty sure that I’d be properly impressed when told / shown.
Is it some kind of temporal disruptor?
ooo want. colour digital oscilloscope and signal analyser. what couldn’t you build with one of those 🙂
Nice kit. Should have some fun with it.
Got a colleague who wants to build a stand alone data analyser (no screen). The actual 24 bit, 8 channel ADC chip costs £30… quite a difference in price, but then there’s quite a bit of work gone into that Hameg.

you can use it to fix or build other gadgets. It can monitor both analogue signals (like sound or radio transmissions) and digital signals (used in computers).
Hameg / Rohde & Schwarz are like the electronic test equipment equivalents of Audi and Porsche. And yes, my friend is part German :laugh_at:

See? I knew I’d be impressed once I found out mate! That’s some cool kit man and is bound to be good if it’s German, they don’t settle for ‘that’ll do’.
You / your mates might like this ted talk if you’ve / they’ve not seen, ingenious!
