I’ve got a mate in New Orleans who worked on a pig farm a few years ago. I remember him telling me that the pigs, kept in cramped conditions inside big sheds, would look at the farm workers with pure hatred and act very aggressively around them – he said that if anyone was ever unlucky enough to fall into the animals, they would be attacked and eaten by the pigs! Pigs are clever animals and know that they’re being fucked over.
Incidentally, in the smaller organic farm across the road where the pigs were kept in less crowded conditions and were generally better looked after, the animals didn’t show any sort of aggression.
