23rd Birthday Party – on board the MS Stubnitz – with music and artwork celebrating 23 years of Spiral vibes.
23 years ago SP23 began a nomadic journey with the Spiral Tribe Sound System. Playing live or producing vinyl they operated strictly underground, broadcasting only on the pirate airwaves.
Pioneers of live electronic dance music, they now return to the UK for one night only. Docking in London on the good ship MS Stubnitz: Friday 23 November 2012
SP23’s full crew of musicians, DJ’s and visual artists will be on board for a night of chaos, connection and all-night celebration.
The SP23 crew have a long history playing on board the MS Stubnitz, creating waves from Rostock to Amsterdam. With SP23’s roots in the outlawed British sound system culture of the 1990s, and the Stubnitz’s creation of an off-shore arts space, there’s always been a natural symbiosis.
Not only will this be the first time the full SP23 crew have performed on board together, but also the first time they’ve been back to the UK.
