Such abhorrent crime’s, I hope the adults who were children at the time, get some sort of justice, if they can :hopeless:

It sounds as if the original investigations were not conducted appropriately, huge cover ups due to the positions of power the abusers were in and the police not investigating thoroughly enough

Lets hope this goes some way to help children now who are experiencing such abuse to make sure that their voices are heard, – unlike these people in the 60-70-80′ s had.

• North Wales inquiry and police response to be reviewed
• As many as five child abuse inquiries ‘imminent’
• Tom Watson praises PM but calls for wider investigation

The government is racing to stay ahead of the swirl of allegations about child abuse in the UK by announcing two further inquiries into an alleged abuse ring in north Wales in the 1970s and 1980s.
The first inquiry will look into the conduct of the original official inquiry into the child sex abuse ring and the second into the police handling of complaints at the time.
Faced by allegations that senior Conservative politicians may have been involved in the scandal at the time, David Cameron, while on an official visit to the Middle East, announced he would establish an urgent investigation into the conduct of the official inquiry held between 1996 and 2000.
In addition, the prime minister’s spokesman in London said a separate inquiry will be held into the way in which the police handled the investigation.
The spokesman conceded as many as five different inquiries were now underway, or imminent, looking into aspects of child abuse.
The spokesman did not rule out an over-arching figure being asked to look at the lessons to be drawn from the inquiries now covering the BBC, the NHS, the police and government.

the good thing about a society which is so open about sex is that if something like this happens to a child they may know its wrong and tell somebody.
I mean like an 11 – 12 year old could.
I know older ladies who experienced minor pervyness from men at that age that didn’t know any different where as my generation would know exactly whats going on.

Poor kids 🙁

Murder I recon can sometimes be justified, extreme provocation, protecting yourself or those you care about, even protecting property or revenge I can understand.

Theft I can sort of understand, some people have so little and no hope, and see others with so much.

Avoiding taxes, selling stolen goods etc etc, all these crimes can sometimes to some degree be mitigated by circumstances or beliefs

BUT

Child abuse….. there is NO defense, NO mitigation, NO excuse, NO reason I can imagine, this is a crime beyond the understanding of normal people, I hate to call those that do it sick as ‘treatment’ seems so lenient when the normal human reaction is to string the bastards up, but the truth is they are sick.

Amazes me how anyone manages to deal with this and stay civilized when every instinct is to go medevil on those that do it, dont know how the victims, their families or even the police dealing with it cope.

The justice system infuriates me.
17 fucking years? They justify it by saying they rehabilitate them and the numbers of re offenders is notoriously low.
There shouldn’t be ANY re-offenders.
The only cause of rape and pedophilia is rapists and pedophiles.
If you ensure a rapist or pedophile is trapped inside for life…there is ZERO chance of them re offending.

Its not just about punishment its about prevention.

Well, now you know what the care system is FOR… it’s to provide completely fucked up young people for rich old bastards to abuse.

Some of whom are Tory politicians. Where do you think career prostitutes come from? It’s not something you can get a college course for.

And this has been going on for hundreds of years. You want it to stop?

I think working out how to change behaviour in the abusers is the best way out – remove the need. How that exactly happens, I’m not so sure. I think maybe their “normal” sex lives are something to do with it – can’t have kinks inside marriage, so they go outside.

Sickening! I see they haven’t named the tory MP yet, but they were quick enough to name others who were/are believed to be involved (Savile, Freddie Starr, Gary Glitter), still seems like the Tories are protecting one of their own for as long as possible to me.

yes, and the scandal is also clearly being used to attack the BBC and liberal freedom of speech introduced by the 60s/70s permissive society and 1980s media and roll it back.

my parents once sent me to a prep school (where everyone had very Conservative views) and there was a nonce teacher there – me and another lad sussed him out so didn’t get photographed nude or otherwise abused, this was in 1984 but he was able to escape detection and judgement until 2006 (when he moved to East Anglia – one plus point about here is the feds and other authorities do not tolerate it) but he had destroyed enough pics/evidence to only get few months prison..

And because I sussed him out him and other teachers supportive of him constantly gave me bad marks in subjects I wasn’t that crap in. Thankfully my parents ran out of money for this fucked up education system which whilst good education wise harbours many more abusers than the comprehensive system, and I went back to a comprehensive high school after age 13. the new headmaster at my comprehensive high school gave me the benefit of the doubt, and I went on to get good grades in all these subjects. Some were important ones

It would have been pointless calling the cops. we knew what he was doing was “dodgy” but teachers had ultimate authority back then – plus there was only one telephone in the building (a payphone) what was on a planset circuit what could be listend to by teachers, (I think even prison no longer allows this!) and TVP at the time would have ignored it as a hoax call.

Just goes to show how fucked the entire system is man. All these cunts in positions of authority seem to either perpetrate or condone such evil behaviour, yet they try to demonise the likes of us because we enjoy taking a few pills at a party, bollocks to the lot of em I say!
