the organisers from the original location got busted and some (especially those who complained) got fined fuckloads of euros (several thousands) or at least threatened with such fines. its possible some charges got dropped with a warning never to do it again in that location. it is moved to Santa FE but be careful – ES and South Europe as a whole is a different place to the good days of 1990s/2000s since the economic depression – folk aren’t as friendly to foreigners as they once were (which is why they tried to lock it off in the first place after letting it carry on for years).
Some people put some pics up of the most recent one in the new place. It looked OK, a bit smaller than other ones and what I did notice was the crowd looked a lot more “spanish” than in previous years. One reason may have been not that that the locals tried to keep English people away but the new location seemed to be advertised more by the Spanish on their media. the way things are going, with a trend towards increased nationalism, that might have been the only way they could get away with it.
Spanish is a Romance language like French. so if you know some French, you might be able to pick up a bit of Spanish (and vice versa). Knowing at a countries language unlocks its culture, and can help you fit in. also learn the history of Spain from the 20th century. Some very unpleasant things happened there, and may even happen again since the economic crash. Stay safe.
