List natural and government/war related incidents from 2010-2020..
‘ this is the decade of destruction.
Ok so my memory of previous events is pretty terrible, so lets start with…
2011 – England riots caused from police shooting mark dougan
2012 – Japanese nuclear melt down, earthquakes, philapeanes earthquake, loads more which I can’t remember, government exposed by Julian asange seeking refuge.
2013 – earthquakes worldwide (same as every year), possible war on Iran, invasion on multiple middle eastern countries and rebellions on their leaders, America threatens n. Korea, bomb explosion in Boston.
so, constant earthquakes and ‘natural disasters’ constantly occurring, constant bombs going off killing tens of people daily in middle eastern countries, government spending more money on power than helping Africa (a dying country and population in dyre need)
The riots werent caused by the shooting of Mark Dougan, lets be honest. Just a bunch of twats shitting on their own doorstep. You gotta be pretty stupid to destroy your own town in the middle of an economic recession :you_crazy
Hmm – if I look back to the 1970s and 1980s, and 1990s I can remember as many similar incidents. As well as bombs in the middle East, and the Cold War too. What is true is for all our technology humans have not really improved in social terms since 40 years and there are a lot of unpleasant things going on but I would still not class this as the “end of the world”.
yeah this shit isn’t isolated just to the last ten years.
Also.. the Japanese tsunami was 2011.
Even in the last decade there was a massive tsunami that killed like 250,000 people

Very true.
I never said anything about the end of the world though, I do think major catastrophes will happen in this decade though, possibly ww3 or the build up to it
I would not discount the possibility of a world war happening, and consider events since 2001 to be the start of it, though even WW II did not make as much of a dent in the global population as I thought it had.
Another factor is the “strong government” of some countries is not a conspiracy or due to certain races being more passive or dominated by religion but more directly related to stuff like tsunamis, earthquakes etc happening.
Firstly the sheer power of nature shakes people up and makes them believe in higher faiths, also democracy, social development and tolerance of dissenting views are all desirable things but require a stable society and economy, and time/resources to explore different paths. This isn’t always possible if your country is being destroyed every few years by natural forces alone, whereas having things like armies and soldiers and politicians who can force through a quick decision is often useful to rebuild countries (soldiers are trained to build stuff, as well as blow things up).

Damn……………. my insurance doesnt cover the end of days
That’ll teach you for taking the cheapest quote on offer.
Disasters are often missed. Seems that the ones that do get covered are as much for “Quick! crisis and drama over THERE!” to take your mind off what’s right in front of you.
I don’t see World War 3 happening any time soon. Although it could be argued that, if you count Napoleon as mad global tyrant number 1 (or even Genghis Khan) then World War 3 has actually already happened.
If you’re talkin MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction by mass nuke exchange) I don’t see it happening. Oy vais, that would be TERRIBLE for business.
Bad stuff has happened in every decade. In fact we are actually quite lucky compared to previous generations. During my parents and grandparents generation if you look at Europe you had WW2 and the Cold War in quick succession with people living in West Germany being right next to the Iron Curtain and the very real threat of invasion/annihilation, especially during things like the Cuban Missile Crisis and Able Archer. In South America you had the rise of several right-wing regimes sponsored by the CIA as part of the containment doctrine, which led to people like Pinochet and the military governments of Argentina and Brazil to take power for a long time. Then in America you had the Korean and Vietnam wars back when they still had conscription so many young lads were sent to fight & die in the name of big stick diplomacy and more Truman doctrine.
So all in all things are pretty good compared to what they were 30, 40, 50, or even 100 years ago. They are far from ideal but we should at least be a little thankful we live in times and countries of relative peace and prosperity, and do our best to improve this situation for ourselves and others.

Even in the more liberal European countries, those people in the 1970s who said “ordinary people will one day be able to not just afford own hand held radiotelephones and portable digital communications devices but to transmit whatever they wished to the whole world using them” were laughed at in their face by both the engineers and managers of the PTT administration (Post, telegraph and Telephone) of their country. And when they dared try such things, found that supplies of suitable equipment were out of their price range, in some cases they were investigated by the domestic and foreign intelligence services as well as the normal government agencies, or made to buy expensive licenses and submit to censorship in some way or other or be closed down by force.
Now things have changed slightly but it is still not a free for all and folk need to be careful how they use their new found freedom and prosperity.
There will undoubtedly be wars and major natural disasters in the next few years, but that’s always the way it is. There are some possibilities that would be very bad if they came to fruition – for instance Yellowstone national park blowing its stack (it’s a massive supervolcano for those that don’t know), or Palma in the Canary Islands blowing – a massive part of the island slipped in the last eruption and if it happens again and sends that flank of the island into the sea, anyone around the Atlantic is pretty fucked!
Also, as regards wars, India and Pakistan might stop pussy-footing around and declare all-out war on each other, or even more likely, North and South Korea – admittedly that may not be a global problem on its own, but other countries will take sides and then it becomes an issue, after all, that’s how the first world war was started…
