What a load of shit, all the good clubs are playing shit, deep fucking house that doesn’t even resemble deep house. R&B, I mean WTF is going on, why would they be playing R&B at a club where people go to avit. Noisia is on down the concorde but it’s 15 jib on the door and it will probably get full and be all one in and one out. Everywhere else is playing shit cheese and shit crap. Volks has a 30k system tongight but it’s dubstep. Is it too much to ask for a break beat night once in a while. I may have to cut my wrists.
I thought you loved a bit of dubstep mate? I swear you told me you had loads of Skrillex posters…
Yeah, man, I fucking love the stuff, if skrillex went fisshing he would drop the bass. (Yawn)
Its funny cause that joke doesn’t even work, it’s fucking retarded. You say bass (the low frequency noise) differently to bass (the fish) fucking morons.
Good night in the end <3
We went to a reggae night and then down volks’ for some dubstep/DnB.
Very bassy
Came back to mine where we got locked out and sat in the hallway for an hour and a bit until some lads came home and let us in the building.
Sat up watching britcoms with G tek, georgia and loggy and fell asleep around 12AM
I’ve just woke up now and loggy has left the building not so stealthily.
All the PV younglings are safe and sound it was so good to finely meet the G tek!
much love x
Yeah it wasn’t like commercial dubstep like what you hear on 1extra. It was basically just dub, nice and dark with none of the step. Nice to finally get back in the volks after all these years. I might say they have kitted it out nicely. Widened it out upstairs and now there is tons of space. They have done alright downstairs too. Made it more dance music friendly.
30k rig was pretty pleasing although it was basically aprox 20k of subs and 10k on the midrange, but the mids were turbosound so you could hear it pretty well.
Great night TBH

Fucking quality night! Great to meet you both too folks, safe!
not been to the volks for years. glad you had a good night and that they’ve finally upgraded that sound system upstairs ! 🙂
re dubstep i find lots of alcohol helps or else enough rugs that anything with intermittent bass sounds good …
Here is one of the tunes they played.

They will play whatever brings in the punters and alcohol sales, also the local plod as well as Council and SOCA now do checks to ensure they aren’t laundering drugs money by “tolerated dealers”. R&B and slower house fits in with a booze culture better. I know the sort of house you mean as the house DJ’s on ICR complain about the club management making them play them commercial tunes so they play the more upfront/underground stuff on the radio.
The exact same thing is happening in coastal areas of NL, that is not surprising as the UK and NL governments in all coastal towns are now working together on drugs demand reduction projects as well as harm reduction.
Both countries know that complete zero tolerance/prohibition won’t work, but that it is far easier to use social engineering to get people back onto the tolerated legal drugs such as alcohol.
