does anyone else have a distinct lack of decent nightclubs where they live? i have yet to enter a good club in my hometown 🙁
Yes, and I always have done. That’s because they are deliberately awful. It’s about emptying wallets and purses as quickly as possible so that the customers leave quicker.
an astute observation. i feel like more often than not clubbing is for people who dont know how to enjoy themselves
I avoid them really. If I go for a night out I usually go to gigs/ shows. Clubs are OK if they have something on though. Where are you based ?
im not so into clubs in towns cos they’re full of people that i generally avoid. i prefer the city where they go to their night and i go to mine

im in southampton. shitload of clubs, not a single decent one
I wouldn’t mind a good party in a club….i have had enjoyed many and probably gonne enjoy some more, but I have to be on work though…clubs have many shapes and lay outs, some of them are cool…but if they are only a money making machine I avoid them….
Been to some good club nights and I’ve been to some crap ones too. They’re never going to be as good as an unregulated unlicensed shindig IMO, but they can still be good fun. Not exactly a club night but years ago some mates of mine used to put on an acid techno night in the backroom of a pub in rural southern Ireland that was a great night out. It was a small bar with a decent sized function room attached. Very surreal, you had all the local farmers quietly having a pint in the bar and me and my mates off our tits and jumping about like lunatics in the back room. I don’t think they could afford to turn down the business but god knows what they thought.
There are actually a couple of decent ones here – or at least ones that have a decent line-up on a regular basis anyway. Got Cally & Juice playing here tonight, was gonna go, but went to my next door neighbour’s 40th last night and can’t be arsed to do a 2nd heavy night in a row. Must be getting old!
I prefer DnB parties in clubs as the crowd that attend them are usually really well behaved and passionate about the music (such nights as hospitality).
Where as if you had a squat party with DnB it can get really really dodgy.

i guess you may not have been to fabric on a dnb night

Fuck that :p The ones I’ve been to are usually in towns, not big cities.
fabric can be great on a friendlier night. the sound there is amazing, but dnb night def wasn’t for me… i had some massive bald guy trying to make some trouble with me, only for an even bigger bald guy to see this ridiculous mis-match and make some beef with his somewhat smaller lookalike and i got away unscathed… i felt like giving him a hug, but thought better not in case it made some more trouble >.>
i’d love to find a friendly (or at least chilled) night tho. i used to collect some dnb tunes, but there was a lot i wasn’t into… but where i live all the unsavoury peeps go to dnb, so i dont… in israel its not like this at all and these ‘types’ aren’t into dnb..
You might want to go to Brighton or even Bristol then for a night.
yeh that sounds good…i would like to do a night in brighton sometime, maybe not dnb… i’d like to find a high quality idm night sometime, but think a lot of it is happening in cornwall and such remote areas
