Just moved to the Nottingham area recently to Uni and unsure of the party scene. Any decent nights out towards the trance / house kind of scene? Im aware of things like stealth but i want more of an underground kind of party!
Cheers
There’s is a scene there, I’ve not seen much of it, but my mates i used to know up there took me to one night what was pretty dam good, only a small little thing in a squatted youth centre, but was really close nit and everyone (bar one drunk guy, who wasn’t even that bad, just annoying) was getting along really well (no it wasn’t me before anyone sais it was lol)
I know there’s a few that happen in the outskirts as well, but coming from London/Essex and having lost touch with them guys I can’t be of much more help, but I definitely know there’s a scene up that way, so keep hunting!
There’s also a bigger scene in Manc. afaik, so if you can travel and find anything that way, might be worth checking it out.
Anyone know if AHC still do the rounds in Manc.? or did they sell their system off?
Oh one thing I will suggest you go and visit, nothing to do with the party scene, but it’s an old English pub called “The Queen Vic” (like off east enders).
EDIT: I think it’s changed it’s name now, but here’s the link to their website …

Lovely place with a nice covered and heated garden right next the an old railway line (that’s still in use so expect the odd train going past).
The reason I suggest this place, is not cos party peeps go their or anything, it attracts mainly a middle aged/oldish crowd, and a few youngsters, but they have guest ales, largers and ciders from across the globe. They might for example buy a solitary 3 barrels of this 12.5% scrumpy cider from Germany as a one off. You’ll be sitting down having a drink of it with your mates in the garden, feeling tipsy/a little drunk …. after you finish your second pint you get up to go to the toilet and although don’t feel stupidly pissed, just on a nice warm high, you realise you’ve turned into a crab and your legs only want to walk you in a sidewards direction. 🙂
None of this chemical piss water beer you get in normal pubs, and they do do so lower % stuff too so you don’t have to worry about being forced to drink super strong stuff, but even that 12.5% cider I had tasted more like a fruit drink then an alchaholic one, it was so so lush and all natural, probably with a lot of sugar in (natural fructose though most likely), but no nasty chems, bar a lot of Ethanol (that’s alcohol to you an me :P).
Please please please grab a hand full of your mates and go visit that place, even if it’s just the once, and make sure you check out a few diferant drinks as most of them are so nice, and you’ll probably never see that drink being sold in the uk again in your life as they really do buy off VERY small farms as a one off!
They do live music sometimes and the foods pretty nice too. Only thing is the guest drinks are pretty expensive, but it’s the best quality pub, drink wise, I’ve ever seen in the UK. (I know there are others like this, but this is the only one I’ve been to).
The Victoria offers about 500 different beers each year and so our beer boards change frequently! Please do not expect to see the same old range usually available from some of our “competitors”!
