unfortunately this ties up with what Jestine Yong told me a few years ago about younger Malaysians not being as deeply interested in electronics as our generation, and replacing stuff rather than repairing it; I’d also noticed that people there are not under as strict control from parents/society as they used to be…
Add that to ruthless competition amongst Asian countries for manufacturing contracts; the same tension about immigrants that exists in Europe and this bad stuff happens..
