Beat-herder is a real heart-on-sleeve, rootsy Northern festival that rivals Secret Garden Party when it comes to sheer escapism. Originally grown from free party roots, it now welcomes 10,000 festival goers. The entire site is built by hand, from each and every sign post to an entire model Victorian street, complete with functioning tattoo parlour, pub and barber shop… so the festival is quite literally like no other. You won’t see the same old props and stages that do the festival rounds here. The line up spans everything from dub, reggae and drum & bass through to house and techno and there’s always a strong live contingent too – the new bands tent is particularly good this year.
Adult tickets only £105
Child tickets for 12 and under only £20
For more full line-up, more information and tickets please visit http://www.beatherder.co.uk
Shit, glad I spotted this thread, something is actually happening near me.
Hardly heard of any of these performers though. Is this a decent line-up by anyone else’s standards. I’m not too knowledgeable on these sorts of underground artists, if that’s what they even are lol.
BUMP
Anyone?
Just in time for me leaving Lancashire to go back home lol. Not sure what to make of the line up as I only know a handful of the performers and like even fewer.
Already got tickets, 4th time going,
quality festival – quality DJ’s, quality site

There’s a possibility you’ll see me there then:weee:
It tends to be a full on dance festie, not child friendly, lots of party heads and a week off work afterwards

Sounds fun, I’ll PM you closer to the time if I get a ticket and hopefully we’ll meet and have a boogie.

Groove Armada, Booka Shade, Stanton Warriors & Roni Size are all good in my books. I’ve heard of the Dub Pistols but never listened to them.
Here is a sick Booka Shade tune
After months of hushed preparation behind closed doors, The Beat-Herder Festival is delighted to finally reveal one of two new stages for 2013: The Fortress.
At 60 feet long and made of corrugated steel, The Fortress will feature four huge turrets and a DJ booth in the loft. With a line up featuring the likes of Dub Pistols, Mumbai Science and Justin Robertson amongst many more, this new stage will have a huge soundsystem pumping out high octane beats all day and night for the intrepid ravers out there.
