INDIGO VOID will make it’s debut at The Fez Club in Sheffield UK on 25th April 2014, offering the trance scene a refreshing insight into the darkest corners of the genre.
INDIGO VOID sets out to revitalise the ever growing (yet largely unrepresented) world of underground, hypnotic trance music.
INDIGO VOID will host live performances from international artists, alongside established DJs and our very own residents. We guarantee a carefully programmed line up that will build through the night. From deep, melodic techno and cinematic house music, through to tough psychedelic trance and beyond.
For our opening event we welcome Serbia’s ManMachine who will be performing a live set full of his distinctive, groove laden psychedelic trance. Having released music on Ovnimoon, Yellow Sunshine Explosion and Lost Language records in recent years, his UK debut is not to be missed.
Also on the bill is Activa, a stalwart of the scene, who’s name is once again on the ascendency, his productions having taken a dark twist of late, incorporating driving, progressive psy sounds, alongside his trademark euphoric riffs.
We also welcome very special guests Federation, who will be playing a rare live show. Signed to Paul Oakenfolds Perfecto Fluoro label, Federation marry industrial rock guitars with old school trance, and have been described as sounding like the Sisters of Mercy after two weeks in Goa.
Finally, residents Ben Lost (Lost Language, Hooj Choons) and Jon Cockle (JOOF Edition’s resident) will ensure INDIGO VOID gets off to a solid start, with their brand of atmospheric house, trance and techno.
Music Genres:
Prog House, Psy/GoaTrance, Techno, Trance

So many things have happened since then. Even if things were harder to do then, life were easier in so many ways 🙂

the pace of life would have been slower. The posh guy would have had to wait some time for the telephone call to be connected (as there was usually a queue of them), enough to read the paper although he would have only lit his cigar after finishing the telephone call (as he would have noticed that none of the other chaps were smoking in an time where everyone usually did, including the operators at the coast radio station).
This was not “British politeness” but a matter of survival, ships radios are powered by accus charged by the generator in the engine room; those would have been the old style accus that were charged until they freely gave off hydrogen gas (that would mix with the rest of the air), and would not have been too far away from the wireless room to keep the cable lengths short. A German handbook for young telephone engineers from the same era also warns them against bringing lit cigars into any confined place where such accus are being charged; although they must have been paid more to afford cigars in the first place, the end result would be the same, and everyone had plenty enough of explosions not too long ago.
Although I no longer smoke and use more modern accus; as I had obtained a large metal box from the old nurse call system at my work (a German designed system from the 1970s) and decided to use it for accus I thought it should also have suitable signs 😉
The best thing in the telephones then was, if you didn’t answer you weren’t home.
We can hardly ever be alone anymore.
