F1 is so unbearably shit it hurts. For me it was dead and gone after the late 60’s, the F1 scene was ALWAYS one for the elitist society, where as the bike boys, like Mike ‘the bike’ Hailwood, Giacomo Agostini and John Surtees where all friends and all mingled together, there was no team rivalries….just a load of nutters riding 350cc-500cc animals with no regard for their safety.
Even Mike the bike tried to go in to F1 and was mortified by the lack of camaraderie in the paddocks. Not one team or driver would socialize with one another. He raced 2 seasons, saved a mans life, by DRAGGING him out of his burning car while stewards did fuck all to help. He was give the George Cross for bravery and heroism, he went back to Bike GP shortly after this.
I digress, F1 for me was always about the rich and beautiful people being seen in the most affluent places on earth, much like Monaco, there are barely ANY natives left there, all kicked out by rich cunts who just want to be seen flaunting there (ill-gotten?) gains from corporate business.
Plus the noise of Ferrari 166 milli magilla, 1.4l V12……….you will never understand, I have head and experienced the sound/heat of one……its a wonder the driver/pilot never set a light (the exhaust outlets run parellel with your legs, nigh on touching you…..1200*c gases aren’t very pleasent lol
I digressed more…..I give up. But yeah, really hate F1 because its not the sport of the working man, where as anyone with a Norton 500 could stripe it, tweak it and compete against the gods of motorcycle racing……..
