Perhaps it’s due to impurities in the Cocaine HCL you used to make the freebase, or leftover NaHCO3? How did you wash it? Ammonia? Ethanol? Water? Ether? Did you wash the Cocaine HCL first? I would do an ethanol wash (At least one) to see if it was due to impurities.
1) Pulverize the freebase to a VERY fine powder.
2) Mix the crack in warm water and stir well.
3) Filter the crack/dirty water through a coffee filter and allow it to dry.
4) Repeat steps 2&3 as many times as desired.
5) Add ethanol (or Ether) to crack (stir between additions) until it just barely dissolves completely.
6) Filter. Keep the filtrate, toss the filtrand.
7) Pour the filtrate on a glass dish and let evaporate.
