De afgelopen weken zijn bij het DIMS verschillende malen tabletten ingeleverd met een ADE-logo. Deze pillen kunnen levensgevaarlijk hoge doses MDMA bevatten. Omdat de pillen in het hele land gesignaleerd zijn, en vanwege de doseringen met gevaarlijk hoge uitschieters, is besloten tot een landelijke waarschuwingsactie.
Het ADE logo refereert aan het Amsterdam Dance Event van 14-18 oktober. Er zijn waarschuwingsposters gemaakt die landelijk verspreid zijn via instellingen. Ook zijn gebruikers gericht gewaarschuwd via fora voor drugsgebruikers.
ADE-XTC PIL
Het Trimbos-instituut waarschuwt in samenwerking met instellingen voor verslavingszorg en preventie al enkele jaren- onder meer via diverse fora waar gebruikers van ecstasy zich bevinden – voor steeds hoger gedoseerde ecstasytabletten. Gebruik van hooggedoseerde ecstasy is extra riskant en verhoogt de kans op overdosering, waardoor oververhitting, acute psychotische verschijnselen, hartritmestoornissen en leverfalen kunnen optreden. Gebruik kan fatale gevolgen hebben.
Het Trimbos-instituut baseert zich onder andere op recente gegevens die worden verzameld door het DIMS (Drugs Informatie en Monitoring Systeem) en de MDI (Monitor Drugs Incidenten).
