So around two months ago I got high with a friend and had the scariest experience of my life. This wasn’t the first time I had smoked, I’d say i’ve smoked around ten times casually over the past couple of years. The biggest reaction I’ve ever had to it was just feeling quite buzzy but good and other than that I’ve always felt chill and just kind of heavy.
But again I’ve always felt good. Anyway I was smoking with my friend and we were just laughing and messing around and I was feeling good and thought that a couple more puffs would get me on a good level (we were smoking from a pipe) and I can’t really explain it but I felt like I left my body and then suddenly came back into it. I dropped the pipe and watched the embers just burning on my bed but I couldn’t quite comprehend what was happening. I told my friend that I wasn’t in my body and started to have a massive panic attack, my heart was beating so fast and I was struggling to breathe.
She managed to calm me down and I was breathing normal but I felt like everything was happening twice and I told my friend that I was moving between two parallel universes. I felt like I was going to die and I needed to go to hospital but she talked me out of it. I spent the rest of the night just lying in bed, super paranoid. I couldn’t control my muscles and I was twitching and shivering. I also saw shadows rising from the end of the bed and heaps of other weird stuff. I convinced myself that when I woke up it would have stopped and it was just the effects of the weed because I had smoked so much, so I managed to get to sleep. I woke the next day feeling normal but as soon as I stood up I had the feeling that nothing was really and everything was repeating, and I was struggling to talk. I also was super paranoid. This lasted for 3 days and nearly drove me insane because I thought it would be permanent but it wore off slowly but came back in episodes. After a week I felt more like myself and I felt I was over it and swore off weed. Ever since though I get the similar feeling that nothing is real when I’m really tired, or have just woken up and alcohol definitely has a stronger effect on me, to the point to where one drink makes me feel a bit trippy and I feel drunk for days.
I also have moments where I just zone out and don’t realise until I kind of become aware again. For the most part though I feel normal. Has anyone had anything similar happen to them? And does anyone know why this could have happened to me? The weed was definitely not laced as my friend had been smoking from the same bag with other people and no one had the same reaction as me.
