if you do not understand German, you can still look at the pictures 🙂 – this Dutch chap (I think he is just a couple of years older than me) set up a pirate TV station in the 1990s, using the kind of modulators and amplifiers normally used to share TV signals across a large communal building.
He managed to transmit to the head end receiver at Hengelo which meant everyone with cable-TV could watch :laugh_at: He transmittted all sorts of random stuff like early computer graphics, “yoof TV” and even a test card from Danmarks Radio :laugh_at:
In the end it got in the news so he had to stop because the Politie and PTT Radiocontrole Dienst would eventually track him down (the cable TV company must have complained) but he didn’t get raided as he’s still got all his transmitter equipment stored away!
