wouldn’t be impossible either; round that area are loads of chemical labs mostly owned by Singapore (they also fund both science universities in that area) where often middle aged British workers process particularly complex (or hazardous) substances as SG don’t have the space in their country for these places and don’t trust the younger Chinese or Malaysian in case “they brow it”.

in one NE England town Singapore bought an entire corner of it for the chemical factory; it processes so much hazchem they have their own Fire Brigade. As a celebration of the deal (all the British jobs were kept) the middle aged Chinese dudes who bought it were given a tour in the perfectly maintained late 1970s fire engine they use and were allowed to set off the blue lights and nee-naws :laugh_at:
