surprisingly good quality given the HDMI de-embedder was about €10 from Amazon, as long as the player software is correctly configured it handles aspect ratio and frame rate changes perfectly which was a real challenge when I was working as a broadcast engineer many years ago.
The flashing is because the old CRT TV is not synchronised to my phone camera.
Its a good thing I don’t have cable service and have grown up a bit or it would be tempting to try and backfeed the cable to set up a pirate TV station like folk across Europe did in the 80s/90s (today you would also have to be careful to keep clear of the frequency bands used for Internet services) 🙂
